Daisy Mae – 35 lbs of Sweet, Happy Energy!

Daisy Mae came into rescue with her littermate, Millie, after they were sadly left behind by their previous owners and taken to a shelter. Both girls had spent their lives as outside dogs, so when Daisy Mae arrived, she needed a little grooming, a lot of love, and a chance to learn what it truly means to be part of a family.

Thanks to plenty of TLC in her foster home, Daisy Mae has blossomed. She is now fully vetted, spayed, heartworm negative, and ready to find a forever home of her own. She’s a beautiful red tri female, about 2 years old and 35 pounds of pure love bug.

At first Daisy Mae was a little shy, but once she realized she was safe, her joyful personality started shining through. Her foster family describes her as one of the sweetest dogs you could ever meet. Her tail is almost always wagging, and she loves being included in whatever her people are doing. Whether you’re moving around the house, heading outside, or just relaxing nearby, Daisy Mae will happily follow along, she simply enjoys being close to her people.

She’s an active, curious girl who would thrive with someone who enjoys walks, outings, and spending time together during the day, but she’s equally happy to settle down and relax in the evenings after the fun is done.

Daisy Mae has recently started exploring the world more confidently. On a trip to the pet store, she happily greeted both people and other dogs, soaking up the attention like a pro. She’s still learning about leashes and harnesses and likely hadn’t worn one before rescue, but she’s catching on quickly and does well once she’s geared up. Walks have quickly become a favorite activity, especially when they include a good “snifari” with plenty of interesting scents to investigate.

She rides beautifully in the car, calmly laying down without whining. She’s very interested in sitting up front with her person, though she hasn’t quite figured out how to jump into the car on her own yet and appreciates a little lift.

Like many dogs discovering the comforts of home life for the first time, Daisy Mae has recently discovered the magic of dog toys. Now they tend to appear scattered across the floor as she plays. She’s also learning what should and shouldn’t be chewed, so a good supply of chew toys will keep this curious girl happy.

Daisy Mae is definitely a morning person! As soon as she hears you stir, she’s ready to greet the day with excitement and playtime. She also has a few adorable quirks, like studying her reflection in glass doors or occasionally splashing in her water bowl just for fun.

She gets along wonderfully with the male dog in her foster home, and the two enjoy spending time together. She has really bonded with him and is used to having a fur-friend – so having another dog in the home is a must for any potential adopter.

She’s affectionate and playful with people too, sometimes gently “play-biting” hands or nibbling at fingernails as part of her playful puppy-like charm.

Daisy Mae has come such a long way and is ready for the next chapter of her life. With her sweet nature, happy spirit, and growing confidence, she will make a loyal and loving companion for a family ready to include her in everyday life.

Daisy Mae is a beautiful 2 year old red tri female (with a full tail) and weighs 40lbs.  She was abandoned by her owners and ended up at the shelter.  She hit the jackpot when she became a STAR dog.  She will be spayed, vetted and evaluated in the Houston area and should be ready at the end of March.
