AVAILABLE DOG

Levi, STAR #2077

Hi! My name is Levi. I will be 1 year old on April 29th, and I am a fun-loving male Aussie. I weigh 42 lbs.

I am crate trained and house trained. I love to play with toys and chase balls. I am not great at catching, but I will chase the ball and bring it back (most of the time). But what I would really prefer is to have a buddy to play with. I am always trying to get them to play with me and sometimes they do. And when they don’t, I can be just like a pesky little brother to trying to play until they tell me off. My foster mom says my coloring is very unique and I have beautiful different colored eyes.

Foster mom here!  Levi is a fun-loving boy. He is still very puppyish. He knows his basic commands and his recall is fantastic. He will need work on jumping up on people. He did have a baby in the house when he was with his former owner, and they said he did well with the baby. He is reactive to noises outside and will bark. He is crate trained and is in the crate when we are not home. He does not like to sleep in it at night, so we have left him out and have had no problems. When no one plays with him, he will entertain himself. He would do great with another dog to keep him busy. His coloring is very unique, and his eyes are 2 different colors. He rides great in the car, and he is pretty good on leash. He does startle easy, but he has gotten better the longer he has been with us. He is a good boy that just needs someone willing to work with him and help him become the best dog he can be.

Levi’s foster home is in Pearland. Since with STAR, he’s been fully vaccinated, is HW-, on heartworm preventative, and been neutered. Please complete an application to be considered as an adopter, learn more about and meet him.

IMPORTANT: We do not deliver dogs to adopters. You must be able and willing to come meet the dog in their foster home. A home visit by one of our STAR volunteers is a required part of our adoption program. Adoptions outside of Texas are rare because of these requirements. You must have a secure fence in place, and we are not fans of apartments for this breed, nor homes where the dogs will be home alone 8+ hours daily. All STAR dogs are adopted to be inside pets and family members only and all current or past pets in the home must have proof of being kept up to date on vaccinations and Heartworm prevention. The adoption fee is $300 and trust us, we spend that or much more on dogs to get them vetted – all STAR dogs will be neutered/spayed, up to date on vaccinations, microchipped, heartworm negative, and on monthly heartworm prevention. If you already have an application on file with us, you can contact us to let us know you are interested.

Levi is a 10 month old red merle male and weighs 40 pounds.  He was spending a lot of alone time outside and in his crate.  He is now a STAR dog and we will find him the perfect home.  Levi will be fostered and vetted in the Houston area and should be ready for adoption sometime in early March.
